J&K to witness thunderstorms, lightning tomorrow: IMD | KNO

Srinagar, Sep 02 (KNO): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday said that Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds at several places on Thursday. The weather department, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), has forecast thunderstorm, lightning and squall activity over Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on Wednesday, while no such warning has been issued for September 4 onwards. The latest forecast comes amid unsettled weather conditions in the Union Territory, with cloud cover and rainfall reported in several areas. In Srinagar, generally cloudy weather is expected with the possibility of rain and thunderstorms, while Jammu is also likely to experience unstable weather conditions. The IMD has advised people to exercise caution during thunderstorms and avoid exposed locations, trees and other vulnerable structures—(KNO)
